Hi! I'm Christine Rice, a creative and unconventional woman who wants to help others like myself earn a living from their creative pursuits online and lead the alternative lifestyle of their dreams--like I'm now living mine!

And welcome to Hexotica, my alternative lifestyle blog that started out eight years ago in order to promote my gothic and burlesque styled handcrafted jewelry and accessories.

Restless with being chained to my craft desk after so long, I turned my creative skills toward helping other small businesses with their digital marketing and became a freelance social media manager and consultant.

One year later, I squished all my belongings into a storage unit and became a pet-sitting digital nomad, able to work from anywhere on a laptop!

I know exactly what it's like being a one-woman show running a small business on a shoestring budget, with limited interest in marketing, and even LESS time for it!

It's bloody HARD selling the things you've poured your heart into, or tooting your own horn to sell it--I felt the same way when I started.

Yet, to survive as a creative today means to think of yourself or your art as a brand or a business, and that doesn't mean you're selling out or selling your soul--it just means you're SAVVY! 

So, my aim is to show you how you CAN smack that social media and digital marketing donkey in the ass to get it both outta your way and working for your creative business, so that you can get back to doing what you love best!
